December Culture Club: Christmas & New Years in Japan
Saturday, December 16, 2017
DEC Networking Room, Two Metro Place, 565 Metro Place S, Dublin, OH 43017
Join JASCO as we celebrate the holiday season by exploring the major end-of-year holidays in Japan: Christmas and New Years! The end of the year is a festive season in Japan, with these two major holidays coming one after another. It's also a time when people celebrate the end of the new year with bōnenkai, end-of-year parties where you can forget the troubles of the past year and hopefully look towards the new year.
At the December Culture Club meeting, we'll explore some of the celebrations that occur in Japan leading up to Christmas, and then how the country immediately transitions into New Years' preparations! We’ll also hold our own small end-of-the-year/Christmas/early New Years’ party with food and drink, including a Japanese-style Christmas cake!
WHEN: Saturday, December 16, 2017, 1:00-2:30 PM
WHERE: DEC Networking Room, Two Metro Place, 565 Metro Place S, Dublin, OH 43017
COST: Free for JASCO members, $5 for non-members. (Registration fees will help cover the cost of supplies required for the Culture Club meeting.)
