AWA ODORI PERFORMANCE AND WORKSHOP

Thursday, March 29
5:30-7:00 PM
OSU Mendenhall Lab Room 100, 125 S Oval Mall, Columbus, OH 43210

Join us on March 29 as we welcome to Central Ohio TAKARABUNE, Japan's first Awa Odori professional troupe!

Awa Odori is an Obon dance native Tokushima Prefecture in Japan with 400 years of history. Takarabune was founded by Akira Yonezawa from Tokushima, and the members are mostly in their teens and twenties, the majority of whom have more than 10 years of experience.

During this special event, the members of Takarabune will give a performance and teach attendees how to dance Awa Odori.

The event is free, but we do ask participants to register so we know how many participants to expect.

For parking information, please see http://osu.campusparc.com. We recommend parking in either the Ohio Union North or South garages.

We look forward to seeing you there!
