    November Culture Club: Ikebana

    Saturday, November 18, 2017
    1:00-2:30 PM
DEC Training Center, Two Metro Place, 565 Metro Place S, Dublin, OH 43017

Join JASCO as we learn about ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement. Also known as "kadō" (the way of flowers), it is considered one of the three classical Japanese arts of refinement, along with kōdō - incense appreciation - and chadō - the tea ceremony.

We'll learn about the history of ikebana, as well as have the special opportunity to learn how to arrange flowers with special guest artist Daisuke Takatomi! An artist from Hokkaido, Japan, Mr. Takatomi is licensed to teach ikebana.

At the end of the club meeting, all participants will have a flower arrangement of their own to take home! In addition, there will the special opportunity to take home a custom-made glass hanadome created by Mr. Takatomi during his residency at GlassAxis!

    Participant Fees

    JASCO members:

$15 - with standard glass vase
    $30 - with custom-made hanadome

    Non-JASCO Members:
$25 - with standard glass vase
    $40 - with custom-made hanadome

Participation fees will cover all material costs - flowers and vase - which will be provided for the event.

In order to provide Mr. Takatomi enough time to create the custom hanadome, registration will close on Saturday, November 4 (two weeks before the event).
